Development

Large Body Movements
· Can weight bear when held
· Sitting ability improving for the ‘wobblies’. Other babies sitting for indefinite periods and playing
· Some babies can get from tummy to sitting position
· Some are starting to crawl (commando style often)

Small Body Movements
· Rakes up a small object (like a raisin) and picks it up
· Feeds herself finger food

Vision
· Constantly alert, insatiable vision continues

Hearing and Speech
· Turns when called
· Responds to miniscule noises behind ears
· A greater variety of speech-like sounds. Maybe the sound bbb or ma, da, ga
· Imitates sounds

Social and Understanding
· May show distress on separation from mother
· May try to grasp spoon when being fed
· Finds a partially hidden toy
